| The Founder's Dream |
Starting in 1991, Dr. Abigail Jordan had a dream of an
organization of women who would serve as role models for others
and who would unite and create a strength that is unequaled by any
other organization. Her trailblazing leadership led to completing
and installing the first African American Family Monument in
America. Her vision from 1991 through year 2002 culminated in the
historic unveiling and celebration of the AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY
MONUMENT, July 27, 2002. The monument stands in Rousakis Plaza
alongside the Savannah River, next to River Street, the Hyatt
Regency Hotel, and the Tourist Center in Savannah, Georgia.
